Milman Parry collected Serbo-Croatian songs during 1934 and 1935. Béla Bartók transcribed part of this collection in 1941 and 1942 for Columbia University. The book Serbo-Croatian Folk Songs by Béla Bartók and Albert B. Lord contains a valuable collection of folk music. (1951)
